seasonal trips
Learn about what you will be fishing for, and when
Dylan targets the rivers and oceans on the Central Oregon Coast. During the fall and winter we target salmon and steelhead on the Alsea and Siletz River. Unlike other guides who trailer long distances to fish these locations, Dylan lives in Philomath, Oregon and fishes the rivers with regularity. During the spring and summer we fish the North and South Santiam Rivers and the McKenzie River. On these rivers we target Spring Chinook, Summer Steelhead, cutthroat trout and redside trout.
We also target salmon, rockfish, lingcod and crab in the Pacific Ocean and estuaries when the weather and seasons allow.
For groups larger than 4 people, we work with other reputable fishing guides to accommodate your needs.

Rockfish and Lingcod are a firm white fish. These fish live on the bottom of the ocean near rocky structure. They provide a great fight and are incredibly tasty. Fried, blackened or grilled you can’t go wrong cooking up these fish!
Columbia Buoy 10 Salmon Fishing
Late August – September
For salmon anglers, few names conjure as much excitement and anticipation as Buoy 10. Located near the mouth of the mighty Columbia River, this iconic spot marks the convergence of fresh and saltwater, a meeting place that welcomes thousands of salmon each year, making it a haven for anglers seeking the ultimate salmon fishing experience.
The Allure of the Buoy 10 Fishery
The Buoy 10 fishery is unique in its ability to offer anglers a chance to catch both Chinook and coho salmon, fresh from the ocean after their long journey. Chinook, known for their size and fighting spirit, are the ultimate prize for many anglers. Coho, smaller but no less spirited, offer a more fast-paced fishing experience with their aggressive bites.
The abundance of salmon at Buoy 10 is another major draw. Starting in June, hundreds of thousands of fish stage off the mouth of the river, creating a feeding frenzy that attracts anglers from all over the world. The peak season for Chinook runs from July to September, while coho fishing remains strong through October.
